James’ technical knowledge has excelled over the past few years and is able to express to his father Stephen what he needs from his machines ‘James complained the GRC didn’t seem to have the pace, he felt the clutch was too low and the bike was struggling to grip in the corners. So with a change to the tyre pressures, a race clutch fitted and a change of gearing we were ready for the qualifying session.’ Added Stephen.
James still struggled with the set up in qualifying, feeling he still wasn’t getting the full potential from his bike. This aside he still managed second position on the grid, marginally missing out on pole.
Race one got underway with James slumping back to fourth off the start. Lap by lap the North Eastern racer confidently carved his way to the front. With six laps to go, James found himself in control of the race and eventually took the win.
In Race two, James got a better start and settled in to second position pushing the front runner throughout the race. On the final corner of the final lap James made his move, picking his line and sticking to it and took his second win of the day.
‘We had a brilliant day, the weather was perfect, the circuit was good and it was all televised. James looked impressive on the track, he loves just to be on his bike.
