LEWIS Rollo’s Bank Holiday weekend didn’t exactly go how he had planned, racing at Anglesey in the seventh round of the Thundersport GB Series.

From the very beginning things started heading south with a Cylinder head gasket perishing in Saturdays practise session on one of his Aprilia RRV 450GP machines.

Lack of set up time left him midfield in the Bridgestone Supertwin class qualifying. However further problems with a snapped rear subframe during the IN Competion Aprilia 450 qualifying left the young scot twelfth on the grid.

Lewis Anglesey 14'Lewis recites the race day’s activities “In the Bridgestone Supertwin races on the Saturday I got ninth and a fourth so it wasn’t that bad. Then during the IN Competition Aprilia races I got a fifth, but then in the second race of the day I came off when I was lying in sixth making my way through the pack, but, these things happen. We were looking for some luck on the Monday and we thought we had some when I managed to get second in the first supertwin race. It then dried up a bit for the Aprilia race, but we never put the right settings on the bike but I still managed to get ninth. In the final Supertwin race I got up into the lead by the fourth lap battling with Tom Neave, but then our luck went away again when we came together and I came off. I was really annoyed but these things happen. As the adrenaline wore off my leg started to hurt, I went out in the last Aprilia race and got seventh. It was still a good points weekend for the championship but we were hoping to be up there again like we were at Rockingham, but we will just need to wait for Donington.”

The East Lothian youngster heads in to the penultimate round at Donington on the 28th of September sitting in fourth place for the IN Competition Aprilia Championship trailing third place by 41 points. The Scotsman also sits fourth place in the Bridgestone Supertwin class 74 points adrift of the championship leader, with 200 points left up for grabs.
