LVweb_nMEa0874JAMES Alderson enjoyed his first taste of racing on big tracks at Snetterton last weekend.

The youngster from Esh Whinning in County Durham made the move from Minimoto & Junior gearbox bikes to a Kawasaki ZX250SP in the ACU Kawasaki Junior Cup.

The weekend started well with James making the transition as if he had been racing the bike for years.

Qualifying third in his first ever session, James progressed over the weekend gaining confidence in himself and the bike.

Race day couldn’t come quick enough for the youth and it didn’t disappoint with James taking two second places and two thirds, in four exciting and nerve wracking sessions.LVweb_nMEy2490

James recaps on his exciting weekend “Friday practice went well, I scrubbed in my new tyres and made some alterations to the gearing.  Saturday’s qualifying went well even though it was wet I qualified third on the grid.  Races went well managing to get two 2nd’s and two 3rd’s. Overall I had a fantastic weekend and was getting more confident on the bike even managing a few race battles with the other riders. I’d like to thank my sponsors NGK, YRF, EC1 Drinks, Burnell Fencing, Forte, Wiz Racing, Family, Friends and Bikewise for their continued support”

James next round will be May 9th – 10th at Silverstone.
