A solid days testing on Friday set the teenager up for the rest of the weekend. Qualifying third in his class and fourth in his group, James had done all he needed for the races.
The weather once again turned for the worse for race one with a thick mist. James took all this in his stride leading the race up until the last lap when he lost the front resulting in a DNF.
In race two James had to start from last place on the grid due to his DNF in race one. The youngster fought hard and reached fourth before the race was red flagged.
Race three James bettered his previous result coming home in second. The final race of the day was also red flagged taking the results back to the last complete lap, giving James his first win in the ACU Kawasaki Junior Cup.
James recaps his weekend “A very wet weekend at Cadwell Park, I qualified fourth on the grid. In race one I was leading the race but crashed out on the last lap. In race two I had to start at the rear of the grid but managed to get up into fourth place before the race was red flagged. Race three I got second place and race four was red flagged on lap 4 giving me my first win on the Kawasaki, a big thanks to my pit crew Matt, Lee, Dad and Mum, and also to my sponsors. Well done to all the riders who rode in terrible conditions.”
