LEWIS Rollo started his 2016 campaign this past weekend at the opening round of the Pirelli National Superstock 600 class at Silverstone.
The young Scot from Gifford, East Lothian, started the weekend strong slotting himself in to second during the first practice session.
Mixed conditions through qualifying saw the youngster yoyo positions until finally putting in a solid time to secure third.
“It went really good this weekend” adds Lewis “I was second in practice in the wet, then in the first qualifying session I was leading. However, then it dried up and I dropped to seventeenth. I started strong in the second qualifying session and I was leading it again, but then I dropped to third. I was still happy because we were on the front row at our first British Superstock race. In the race I got to the lead and was leading for four laps but then dropped to second place. I had a really good battle with some other riders but then made a couple of mistakes and dropped back to sixth, but managed to get back to fifth by the end of the race so was really pleased with how my first race went of the year and can’t wait for Oulton!”
