OULTON Park played host to the second round of the Pirelli National Superstock 600 championship.
The eager young Scot pulled no punches in the first practice sessions, which took place on the Saturday due to the Bank Holiday race weekend.
However, Sunday did not favour the teenage racer. As the weather turned the lap times dropped and so did some of the competitors. Unfortunately, Rollo was one of the fallers which pushed him back in the time sheets.
“The weekend started of really well” Lewis states “I finished second in practice on Saturday, then in qualifying one I was leading. But then I tucked the front and came off the bike with five minutes to go, just as the track was drying and I dropped down to 14th position. On Sunday we had our second qualifying session but the conditions were worse than Saturday. I still managed to go a bit quicker and get up to ninth on the grid for the race. On Monday the weather was really bad and after our warm up lap they actually delayed the start of the race till the weather calmed down a bit. Once the race started I managed to work my way up to second place on the second lap but the leader was too far ahead by this point to catch him. I managed to hold onto second place and get our first podium of the year. It was a really good weekend and the result was mega. I’d like to thank all my sponsors and everyone that has supported me.”
