JAMES Alderson completed his first weekend’s racing in the Hel Motostar Moto3 Standard Championship, albeit in round three.
The North-Eastern youngster’s delayed start to the season was finally over when they took delivery of the Young Riders Fund Honda NSF 250 R one week ago.
Brands Hatch Indy circuit is a firm favourite of James’, so it was welcomed as his first chance to cut his teeth in national series.
Over the course of the weekend the young racers times dropped to within 1.6 seconds of the leader in his class… Not too bad for his first time out.
However, over the weekend the team were hit with some minor technical problems which had been previously been encountered by other competitors and rectified.
“I had a great time at Brands Hatch round three of the BSB.” Explains James “It was the first time I had rode the bike. Practice and qualifying went well and I was slowly getting my lap times down. Races didn’t go quite as good, I had bad starts in them both, first race I had a DNF and second race 11th in the Moto 3 standard class, it was a learning curve for us all but an enjoyable one. Massive thanks to Dad and Lee Vasey and to my sponsors NGK, YRF, EC1, Burnell Fencing, LS2 Helmets, Morson Photography, Race 2 off Road, Custom Coachwork’s, Forte, Wiz Racing, R Alderson and Sons and to Family, Friends and Bikewise for their continued support. Well done to all the riders, thanks to the organisers and Marshall’s, also thank you for all the good luck messages.
James’ will race next at Knockhill in the fourth round of the Hel Motostar Moto3 Championship on June the 24th – 26th.
