Lewis Rollo headed south to Brands Hatch Indy circuit for the third round of the Pirelli National Superstock 600 championship.
The young Scot has had a fantastic start to his 2016 campaign, creating waves through his class with his instant pace.
Lewis started strong at the beginning of the weekend setting his Kawasaki ZX6-R to flow around the high speed Indy circuit.
Setting a time that secured him eighth on the grid left 0.3 seconds adrift of pole, highlighting the fierceness of the competition this season.
The race started off well with Lewis swooping around the outside in to Paddock, only for the race to be red flagged.
The re-start showed the teenagers talent once again as he charged in to third position and then in to second.
However, an unfortunate slip, along with the race leader put him out of the race in his first DNF of the season.
“My birthday weekend wasn’t the best” Explains Rollo “I had never been to brands on a 600 before, but I got used to it really quickly. The lap times were so close but I still managed to get eighth on the grid. The race was a bit hectic as it was a delayed start and then got red flagged, then a safety car. I managed to get up to Second place and sit there until a lap and a half to go, then the leader tucked the front and I went with him. This wasn’t the way we wanted to finish the weekend, especially when I could have been leading the championship if I had finished the race. However, it is a long season and we are ready for the next round, I can’t wait for Donnington world superbikes!”
