JAMES Alderson headed overseas for the eleventh round of the Hel Performance Motostar Standard Championship, hosted by the historic Assen TT Circuit.
The circuit was wet which would play a big part in the teenager trying to get to grips with the Dutch track.
Despite a few technical issues with the bike, James used FP1 and Qualifying to gain confidence, eventually taking two seconds off his time.
Assen was great I really liked the track” added James “We had mixed weather and some problems with the bike but we were confident. I got a good start in race one, but as the race got underway the track was starting to dry in places, however I plugged away and brought her home in ninth place. The bike still wasn’t running perfect though, so with a little more work we managed to sort it and were confident for the second race. Unfortunately, I was taken out by another rider in on the first lap but these things happen, its racing.
